10 of Our Favourite Grevilleas for Sunshine Coast Gardens
Aglaonema 'Red Valentine' is a spectacular indoor foliage plant prized for its vibrant red, pink and green variegated leaves. One of the most colourful Chinese Evergreens available, it brings bold tropical colour into homes, offices and apartments while remaining one of the easiest indoor plants to grow. Its compact habit and low-maintenance nature make it an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced plant enthusiasts.
Aglaonema 'Red Valentine' occasionally produces small cream to greenish-white flowers surrounded by a pale spathe. While attractive, they are generally considered secondary to the stunning foliage.
Large, glossy leaves are heavily variegated with brilliant shades of crimson red, pink and rich green. The colourful foliage is produced throughout the year and provides long-lasting indoor interest.
Small red berries may develop after flowering under ideal growing conditions, although fruiting is uncommon on indoor-grown plants.

Climate: Thrives indoors throughout Australia and outdoors in protected tropical and subtropical gardens.

Humidity: Prefers moderate to high humidity but adapts well to normal indoor conditions.
Perfect as a feature indoor plant, office plant, apartment plant, tabletop display or for adding vibrant tropical colour to shaded patios and courtyards. Excellent in decorative pots and makes an impressive gift plant.
Feed during spring and summer with a quality indoor plant fertiliser every 6–8 weeks. Wipe leaves occasionally to remove dust and maintain their glossy appearance. Remove older leaves as required and repot every few years when root-bound.
Aglaonema 'Red Valentine' is highly regarded for combining outstanding foliage colour with exceptional ease of care. It tolerates lower light levels better than many colourful indoor plants, making it an excellent option for brightening interior spaces.
Caution: Like other Aglaonema varieties, all parts of the plant should be considered toxic if ingested by pets or people.
