Acmena smithii minor 'Allyn Magic' is a compact, evergreen Australian native lilly pilly renowned for its naturally dense, rounded habit and colourful bronze to red new growth. Highly resistant to lilly pilly psyllid, this hardy variety requires minimal maintenance and is ideal for creating neat low hedges, borders, feature plantings and container displays. Its compact size makes it perfect for smaller gardens while still providing lush year-round foliage and excellent structure.

Flowers

Small fluffy white flowers appear during late spring to early summer, attracting bees and other beneficial pollinators.

Foliage

Dense, glossy green evergreen foliage is complemented by vibrant bronze to reddish-orange new growth, providing fresh colour throughout the growing season.

Fruit

Clusters of attractive pink to purple berries develop after flowering and are enjoyed by native birds.

A naturally compact, rounded evergreen shrub.

Mature Size: Approximately 0.6–1m high × 0.6–1m wide

Sun: Full sun to part shade

Soil: Prefers well-drained soils but adapts to sandy, loamy and clay soils with good organic matter.

Water: Water regularly during establishment. Once established it is reasonably drought tolerant but performs best with occasional deep watering during extended dry periods.

Frost: Tolerates light frost once established.

Wind: Suitable for coastal gardens and tolerates moderate coastal winds.

Climate: Well suited to subtropical, temperate and coastal climates throughout Australia.

Maintenance

Very low maintenance. Prune lightly after periods of active growth to maintain a dense, tidy shape. Apply a quality slow-release fertiliser in spring and keep well mulched to encourage healthy growth.

'Allyn Magic' is a dwarf selection of Acmena smithii minor, specifically chosen for its naturally compact habit, colourful new growth and excellent resistance to lilly pilly psyllid. Its dense growth means it maintains a neat appearance with very little pruning, making it an excellent choice for modern low-maintenance gardens.

Where are our plants Grown and how do we grow them
  • Plants are grown locally on the Sunshine Coast
  • All outdoor plants are sun hardened and ready to grow
  • Indoor plants are grown under 50% Shade and will transfer perfectly to indoor use
  • Orchids are also grown under 50% Shade and are best brought indoors during flowering for show then returned back into a shaded area until the following flowering time
  • we are Qualified horticulturists, greenkeeper as well as Qualified landscape Construction with over 35 years experience in the industry. We use Quality products and materials to grow all our plants.

How to Look after your plants like we do
  • When using any Garden Care products or Fertilisers we always recommend reading the label before use
  • We recommend using Earthlife crushed rock mineral on all plants when planting in the ground or in Pots.
  • When planting in Pots in Our garden centre we use Rocky Point potting mixes to plant all our plants
  • If planting in the ground we also recommend that you use Rocky Point garden soil around your plants at the time of planting

How long will it take to Deliver to me on the Sunshine Coast?

We currently Deliver on the Sunshine Coast, South east QLD and Northern NSW. we can obtain quotes for plante deliveries outside these areas, just hit us up using the chat button.

Our Delivery days are Wednesday & Friday

Depending on Bookings we wouldn't be able to determine Delivery times until the day of Delivery

What is your return policy?

We ask that you please check your products carefully upon delivery and or leaving the store and let us know if there are any issues with your product prior to accepting the product

Once a plant or pot or any product leaves the store we will not accept any refunds or credits if damaged or broken.

unfortunately we dont offer any refunds on Plants or Pots

If you change your mind on a pot we may consider a store credit which can be used to purchase any other products in store however the pot must not be damaged
