Why It’s a Great Idea to Plant in Winter
Grevillea juniperina ‘New Blood’ is a compact, hardy native groundcover prized for its vivid red flowers and fine, needle-like foliage. Low-growing and dense, it’s an excellent choice for small gardens, rockeries, embankments, and wildlife-friendly landscapes, providing year-round greenery and bursts of vibrant colour.
Produces masses of brilliant crimson-red spider flowers from autumn through spring, with spot flowering at other times. The nectar-rich blooms are highly attractive to birds, bees, and butterflies, making it a perfect choice for wildlife gardens.
Features soft, fine-textured, needle-like green leaves that create a dense mat of foliage, contrasting beautifully with the bright red flowers.
Occasionally forms small, woody seed capsules typical of Grevilleas but not considered ornamental.
