Tristaniopsis laurina ‘Luscious’ is a superior cultivar of the native Water Gum, known for its dense foliage, striking glossy leaves, and attractive copper-toned new growth. Selected for its upright form and lush canopy, ‘Luscious’ is an ideal feature or street tree for both residential and commercial landscapes. Its resilience and non-invasive root system make it a reliable performer in urban conditions.
Flowers:
Fragrant, golden-yellow flowers appear in summer, adding seasonal interest and attracting pollinators such as bees and butterflies.
Foliage:
Broad, deep green, glossy leaves with a leathery texture provide a lush, evergreen presence year-round. New growth emerges in rich tones of bronze or copper, enhancing its ornamental appeal.
Fruit:
Produces small, woody seed capsules that follow flowering. These are inconspicuous and pose no litter problems.
Form and Size:
Upright, rounded canopy with a strong central leader. Typically grows to 7–12 m tall and 5–8 m wide depending on conditions and pruning.
Growing Conditions:
Performs best in full sun to part shade and adapts to a wide range of soil types, including clay and loam, provided drainage is adequate. Tolerates moderate frost, coastal conditions, and urban pollution.
Uses:
Excellent as a street tree, screening plant, or shade tree in parks, gardens, and streetscapes. Also suited to feature planting in large gardens or along driveways and property boundaries.
Maintenance:
Low-maintenance and generally pest-free. Prune lightly to shape if needed and apply a slow-release fertiliser in spring. Mulch well to conserve moisture and protect surface roots.
Notes:
Bred by Ozbreed, this cultivar offers improved form, faster growth, and denser foliage compared to the species. Its tidy root system makes it a safer choice near paths and paving.

Where are our plants Grown and how do we grow them
- Plants are grown locally on the Sunshine Coast
- All outdoor plants are sun hardened and ready to grow
- Indoor plants are grown under 50% Shade and will transfer perfectly to indoor use
- Orchids are also grown under 50% Shade and are best brought indoors during flowering for show then returned back into a shaded area until the following flowering time
- we are Qualified horticulturists, greenkeeper as well as Qualified landscape Construction with over 35 years experience in the industry. We use Quality products and materials to grow all our plants.

How to Look after your plants like we do
- When using any Garden Care products or Fertilisers we always recommend reading the label before use
- We recommend using Earthlife crushed rock mineral on all plants when planting in the ground or in Pots.
- When planting in Pots in Our garden centre we use Rocky Point potting mixes to plant all our plants
- If planting in the ground we also recommend that you use Rocky Point garden soil around your plants at the time of planting
