Westringia fruticosa 'Aussie Box' is a compact Australian native shrub bred as a tough, low-maintenance alternative to traditional box hedging. Featuring dense, fine grey-green foliage and a naturally rounded growth habit, it responds exceptionally well to clipping, making it ideal for formal hedges, borders, topiary and low-maintenance landscapes. Hardy and drought tolerant once established, 'Aussie Box' thrives in Sunshine Coast gardens.
Flowers
Produces small white to pale mauve flowers throughout spring and summer, with spot flowering often occurring during the rest of the year. The blooms attract native bees and other beneficial pollinators.
Foliage
Dense, fine grey-green foliage provides year-round colour and creates a naturally compact shrub that requires minimal pruning to maintain its shape.
Fruit
Produces small, inconspicuous nutlets after flowering, which are not considered an ornamental feature.

Maintenance
Water regularly during establishment. Once established, 'Aussie Box' requires minimal watering. Clip lightly as required to maintain a neat shape. Apply a slow-release native fertiliser during spring to encourage healthy growth.
Notes
Aussie Box is an excellent native substitute for traditional box hedges, offering the same neat appearance with greater drought tolerance and fewer maintenance requirements. Its compact habit and resilience make it ideal for residential and commercial landscapes.

Where are our plants Grown and how do we grow them
- Plants are grown locally on the Sunshine Coast
- All outdoor plants are sun hardened and ready to grow
- Indoor plants are grown under 50% Shade and will transfer perfectly to indoor use
- Orchids are also grown under 50% Shade and are best brought indoors during flowering for show then returned back into a shaded area until the following flowering time

How to Look after your plants like we do
- When using any Garden Care products or Fertilisers we always recommend reading the label before use
- We recommend using Earthlife crushed rock mineral on all plants when planting in the ground or in Pots.
- When planting in Pots in Our garden centre we use Rocky Point potting mixes to plant all our plants
- If planting in the ground we also recommend that you use Rocky Point garden soil around your plants at the time of planting
