Westringia hybrid (WES03) 'Blue Gem' PBR is a compact, evergreen Australian native shrub selected for its naturally dense growth, attractive grey-green foliage and prolific display of soft mauve-blue flowers. With a neat rounded habit and excellent drought tolerance, it is ideal for low hedging, borders, coastal gardens and mass planting. Tough, low maintenance and easy to shape, 'Blue Gem' performs exceptionally well in Sunshine Coast gardens.
Produces an abundance of soft mauve-blue flowers from spring through autumn, with spot flowering possible throughout the year in mild climates. The blooms attract native bees and other beneficial pollinators.
Fine grey-green foliage remains dense throughout the year, creating an attractive, naturally rounded shrub that responds well to pruning.
Produces small, inconspicuous nutlets after flowering, which are not considered an ornamental feature.
